4 Hoteliers report: Biggest PR crisis threat comes from higher management, say UK workers

Hotel, travel and hospitality news site 4 Hoteliers has reported on our latest research into which factors pose the biggest threat of a PR crisis. UK workers feel that the biggest PR crisis threat comes from higher management teams (40%).

Our research also finds that lapses in online security are a significant concern for managers, with 39% reporting it as a concern.

The aim of this research is defining how prepared different sectors are if a crisis hits. It also aimed to discover if they have the necessary plans in place to deal with a crisis to help protect and limit damage to their reputation. Conducted across eight different sectors, this research took in the views of over 500 participants holding a managerial position.

The importance of a crisis management plan

At Igniyte we know that implementing a crisis management plan is the most effective way to handle a PR crisis. However, we found that 17% of managers said they didn’t have any such plan in place. Alongside this, 24% revealed that, though their company holds a crisis management plan, they do not fully understand it. Therefore, they would be unable to act effectively during a crisis situation.
