The Christmas party: The Independent covers Igniyte’s research

4 December 2015 · Igniyte

The Independent has covered Igniyte’s research on employee behaviour at office Christmas parties – including the finding that 1 in 4 UK employees are planning on drinking less at this year’s work festive bash for fear of embarrassing themselves.

The article looks at what could potentially go wrong at your office Christmas party this year, featuring Igniyte’s research revealing the scandalous behaviour UK employees have got up to in the past, and what they’re planning on doing this year.

The research was undertaken in November 2015 on over 1,000 UK employees across eight different sectors. It found that almost 1 in 3 employees have flirted with a colleague in the past, over 1 in 4 have admitted kissing a colleague, and 1 in 10 drank so much alcohol that they didn’t turn up for work the next day.

The article warns that participating in intimate activities or indecent behaviour could potentially land you a dismissal; with 1 in 10 property employees admitting to receiving a verbal or written warning following Christmas party antics, and 8% have even admitted being fired!

Take a look at the article in full here, and if you’re unsure about how to warn your employees of inappropriate behaviour at this year’s office party, take a look at our free guide here.
