Igniyte enlisted by ITN Productions to transform celebrity, Alex Reid’s online reputation

8 September 2016 · Igniyte

Recently, Igniyte featured in a documentary for 5STAR. The programme documented Igniyte’s efforts to help MMA fighter Alex Reid. He believes his online persona is holding him back from developing a solid reputation online and revitalising his career.

The documentary Sex, Lies and Trolls: Going Viral explored the rise of online trolling. It also looked at how to tackle negative, abusive comments. The programme draws attention to new figures which show nearly a third of 18-25 year olds have experienced trolling online.

It features both victims and perpetrators of trolling. Moreover, the documentary also explored the detrimental effects that online abuse can have on the human body.

Alex Reid

Alex Reid, despite a successful MMA career, has experienced an onslaught of negative press. Much of this focused on his very public relationship with TV personality Katie Price. This has wreaked havoc on his image online.

Within the documentary, we see Dan working with Reid to improve his public profile, both online and offline. Commenting on the programme, Igniyte’s Managing Partner Simon Wadsworth was quoted by Prolific North saying:

“The Internet can be extremely harsh place for a celebrity. It has the power to turn people into stars, but can also destroy them in one fell swoop. At Igniyte, we help individuals, companies and brands transform how their online reputation. We were keen to work with Alex to develop his personal brand and give him more control over his online persona.”

By watching Dan work with Reid, you can see how Igniyte uses a comprehensive approach to developing someone’s personal image online.

To further strengthen our approach, we have recently developed an Online Reputation Index to offer a revolutionary approach for reviewing and analysing how a brand or public figure is regarded online.
